Dear Holy Cross Families,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! We hope all of you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer break. The faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for the first day of school on Monday, August 7th. Thank you to everyone who came out to our Ice Cream Social this past Wednesday. We had a great turnout and it was wonderful to see our returning families and to meet those new to our Holy Cross community!
At Holy Cross Central School, we believe that there is no limit to our learning. With this belief in mind, our focus this school year will be on setting high goals for our academic, spiritual, and behavioral growth. We know that if we persist in our studies and relationships, there is no limit to what we can accomplish both individually and as a school community. Throughout our school we have posters reminding us of our two main goals: College and Heaven. Let us together work towards these goals each and every day!
One way to help make sure our students are prepared to learn each day is to be at school on time every morning. Breakfast will be served from 7:00am-7:40am. School will officially begin at 7:45am. At this time, the front doors will be locked. If your child arrives after 7:45am they are late for school and an adult needs to walk them into the main office to sign them in. Please plan accordingly to ensure your child arrives at school on time and ready to learn.
Website and Social Media
In an effort to preserve resources throughout the school year, most newsletters and communication items will be posted on the school website and social media. The school website is: www.holycrossschoolindy.org. A link to our Facebook page is on the homepage of the website and the “Parent Resources” tab will have most of the information that needs to be sent home. In addition, regular weekly emails will be sent via Jupiter to communicate news and upcoming events. If you do not receive these emails, please stop by the office to update your information. Printed copies of newsletters and information will be available in the office.
As we begin this new year, we have new faces to welcome to our school community: Ms. Longville, Ms. Witte, Mr. Sigmund, and Mrs. Therber. Ms. Longville has joined us from Ohio and will be teaching Kindergarten. Ms. Witte comes to us from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and will be teaching 2nd Grade. Mr. Sigmund, who recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame ACE Program with his Masters in Education, joins us after teaching in Oklahoma City. Mr. Sigmund will teach Middle School Science and Social Studies. Mrs. Therber will be joining us as our Assistant Principal and support students through our resource program. Mrs. Therber comes to us after teaching Middle School English/Language Arts at Our Lady of Lourdes School. We are blessed to have these new members of the Holy Cross staff and thank them for saying “yes” to continuing their ministry at Holy Cross.
Everyone on the Holy Cross staff is excited to see our students this week and to have a great 2017-2018 school year! We look forward to partnering with each of you throughout the year to continue to put our students on the path to College and Heaven.
