Dear Holy Cross Families and Friends,
I am writing with news to share with you – my families, students and friends of Holy Cross.
Last week I tendered my resignation to Gina Fleming, the superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, my mentor and my friend. As you can imagine, it has been a very emotional process for me in making this decision, but in the end, I feel that this is the right decision in my professional career.
I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support and for entrusting me with your children. I am honored and feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be part of Holy Cross. I have so many wonderful memories of my time here and I am sad to say goodbye. During my time at Holy Cross, I have fostered relationships with many of you and I will cherish the memories and friendships I’ve made during my time here. Holy Cross is an amazing place for children to grow academically, socially and spiritually. I have been a witness to Baptisms, First Reconciliations and First Communions; this is a rare and special privilege for me. Holy Cross has been a very extraordinary place for me and I will miss everyone. There are many reasons I am proud of the Catholic school community that we have built here at Holy Cross. I am most proud of the way the students and staff have embraced the Catholic faith and traditions, you are all truly amazing. I am proud of how hard that students have studied and prepared for the ISTEP test. Our children are not afraid of a challenge!
Know that my dedication to my position as your principal will continue as we transition to new leadership. I am confident that the new principal at Holy Cross will be as dedicated to all of you as I have been. Once the new principal meets you, I feel assured he or she will know this is the best decision of their life. While change can be frightening it can also be exciting with the anticipation of new and different experiences. I am confident that I am leaving you and your children in competent hands, for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and the Notre Dame ACE Academies remain committed to providing the resources and supports necessary to help our children attain college and heaven. God will lead each of us to where we need to be. We just need to trust in His wisdom. My prayers will continue to be with the Holy Cross community. I will always remember Holy Cross as a special place for not only me but for the faculty, parents and students. Future students will come to love Holy Cross just as all of us do.
“Good-byes” seem like an end, “see you soon” and “keep in touch” are better options. I expect to hear all of the great things that are happening in your lives and especially in the lives of the children. I can’t wait to receive the invitations to attend high school and college graduations. For me the hardest part of leaving will be not seeing children every day. I have grown so attached to them over the years. I have loved watching them grow up into amazing young people. Please give them a hug for me and let them know how they touched my heart and life. I treasure my memories of them all.
Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation as I enter into a new learning experience of my own.
Yours in this journey of Faith,
